Lakewood Dentistry
XHTML, CSS, Search Engine Optimization, ASPX- Dot Net Nuke, Photoshop, JQuery
Lakewood Dentistry is the first web layout that I made using the 960 grid system. I was very suprised at how simple the grid system allowed me to code the website. Unfortunantely, I was installing Dot Net Nuke into the website which ruined the grid system’s drop down menu’s in Internet Explorer 6. So I was then forced to recode it without using the 960 grid system. But if you’re not installing a Content Management System (CMS) the 960 grid system is very useful and I will continue to base all of my websites on 960 pixels in width.
Element Exteriors
XHTML, CSS, Search Engine Optimization, ASPX- Dot Net Nuke, Photoshop, JQuery
Element Exteriors was a project I was given during my internship with SEO Technologies, LLC. We optimized it for the keyword nashville roofing, which is why the domain is called NashvilleRoofing.net. I created this website like I would do any other website. I designed a main layout inside photoshop of how I wanted it to look and went off of that when coding it.
Diamond Flooring
Adobe Photoshop CS4
Diamond flooring is a company in South Carolina that does hardwood and laminate flooring. The only skills I used on this was designing the entire layout in photoshop. It is nice to design something in photoshop and then the next time you see the layout is coded out with content in it.
Portfolio v2.0
Adobe Photoshop CS4, Logo Creation, CSS, XHTML
In Portfolio class at the Art Institute of Houston you are assigned to create three different layouts for your portfolio. In my opinion, your layout is the most important part of your website. A potentional client/employer should be able to identify your capabilities as soon as they type in your web address and see your beginning page. This is one of the layouts I had before deciding to use the current one I am using.
Portfolio V1.0
Adobe Photoshop CS4, Logo Creation, Flash, CSS, XHTML, JQuery - Litebox
This is my first real portfolio that I've created. The other ones I've done were so beginner that I don't like to count them. This is the first deisgn that I launched for gregmaustin.com. The current layout which you have been navigating through now is version 1.999. It's an extremely updated version of thhis old website. I wanted to show this on my website so that you can see where this current layout started from, and how I adapted it to my latest work.
Camper Land
XHTML, CSS, Search Engine Optimization, ASPX- Dot Net Nuke, Photoshop, JQuery
Camperland is a site build and optimization project that I was assigned during my internship as SEO Technologies. I first designed this layout in photoshop and coded in with xhtml, and css then skinned it out for Dot Net Nuke to read it and uploaded the skin file. This was online of my first skins/full builds during my internship.
Dove Cove
XHTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop CS4, Adobe Illustrator CS4, Logo creation
Basic minimum build for a apartment complex in Texas City, TX. I created the logo and the website, my aunt actually runs the condominiums and hired me to do free lance work for her. I adapted some basic search engine optimization skills to this layout. But other than that, this website was really basic.
Garland Transmission
XHTML, CSS, Search Engine Optimization, ASPX- Dot Net Nuke, Photoshop, JQuery
Eagle Transmission is a chain company in texas that runs several different transmission locations throughout Texas. The company I did my internship for built and optimized every website for each location through Texas. I was given this job as my first project at SEO Technologies.
Brazil travel project
Flash, CSS, XHTML, JQuery Menu
Brazil travel website was a project for a CSS class that I had taken last year in 2008. The assignment was to choose a city/country/area and create a website over it, for people wanting to visit the area. The Jquery menu has several bugs and only works in firefox. I plan on taking this down sooner than later.
Hearts - Cancer Awareness
Adobe Photoshop CS4, CSS, XHTML, Logo Creation
The Heart website was created for a psychology class. The main project for the class was to create a marketing campaign for a public service announcement. Women's heart disease is the #1 killer for women! I was in a group of about five other students to create this project. Being the only web designer in the group I took duties to create a website for the campaign.

Lorem Ipsum
XHTML, CSS, Logo Creation
I credit lorem ipsum for providing all this content! This was another project for the CSS class that I took last year. The whole idea of this project was to work with the css and the layout. Which is why we were instructed to use lorem ipsum for all the content. This is honestly a website bout nothing! So don't expect to much when navigating through it!
Visit the Moon
XHTML, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Logo Creation
I don't even know if I knew what an external style sheet was when I created this website. This is the beginning days at The Art Institute of Houston. I checked out the code earlier and the navigation is done through a table, didn't even use a unordered list for this project. But again, I just want you to see from where I came from to where I am now. Always room to grow as a designer as I am doing now!
Woodstock '69
Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe ImageReady CS2, XHTML, CSS
A final project for intro to scripting languages which was also know as intro to HTML. I used ImageReady for the navigation which I often used for all of my menus at the time. I didn't quite understand CSS and the capabilities of a table-less layout at the moment. But I'd like to think that I learned quick!
Writing for the Web
Adobe Photoshop CS4, XHTML, CSS
This first layout where I used an unordered list as my navigation and was starting to grasp the external stylesheet thing. Writing for the Web was created for a class I was taking called Writing for Interactive Media. The class was used to learn how to write for the web. Which, many people do not now that you should write differently on the web than you would if you were writing a book or a paper for class. A person reads 20% slower than they would on paper.
